Thought I might as well start this off with a picture.
My boyfriend requested a Weezer tea cosy so this is what I came up with..

Hi there!. Am still active and around but nothing appears to be happening on this community :( what sort of crafts do you do? I knit but I don't think i'm that great at it yet!. Want to start trying to make clothes but can't quite figure out my boyfriends extremley old sewing machine!

i kind of knit, although i try and avoid it since i'm terrible! really i just dabble in everything - i'm getting better at sewing, and i love making cards and collage type things. basically i'll give any project that looks fun a go! i might just post something i made this morning on here, actually...

*waves* ahh super i have been looking for crafty lj places but only today i found this one while hoping through peoples pages. See i really want to knit but i have no idea where to start i have many a tea pot that seeks a cosy. *smiles*

Im normally a try myself sort of person but i see knitting as something i can't just pick up and do. Got into sowing on my last project when i made a 2 meter by 2 meter patch work with negitive blanket. Is your "stitch and bitch" knitting only and is it arm welcoming to all...and if so do i need to learn before hand or can people like me who resemble someone with chopsticks trying to make wool look like things welcome? hah.

BTW your tea cosy is smiley.

of course your welcome! :) everyone is!. Knitting can be picked up quite easily once you've got the hang of it. I'll be more than happy to teach you and i'm sure the stitch and bitch girls will lend a hand also.
I wish I could sew. I'm really bad at it. Although the stitch and bitch is mainly a knitting thing we welcome everyone crafty

Well supers. Im not the best at sewing either but i try and thats what counts, after 48 long hours of machine and hand sewing a patchwork i like to think im okay. When is you next stitch and bitch? I do i have kitted before but i would say when i was very young and it was a holey hamster scarf...not even my hamster would wear it.

I have knitting needles...do i need something else?

the next one is tomorrow from 6pm at the turkey cafe. we hold it every week now. Best thing to start with is just some needles and yarn. thinker yarn is uaully better to learn on as you can see what your doing easily. the thinner stuff can get a bit fiddly

Okies. Well at the moment im in North Wales and won't be getting back till late on tuesday. But i will see if a can curve my shyness and come next week...i need to track down some funky wool.
